POSTER COMPETITIONS - Call for entries

Deadline for entries: August 22, 2004
Exhibition: October 22, 2004, Saba International Cultural and Artistic Center, Tehran (IR)

Purpose:
Dedicated to the presentation of selected graphic art works from the Islamic World, the first occurrence of this exhibition is being held with the aim of reviewing the present situation of poster design in the Islamic World.

Venue: Saba International Cultural and Artistic Center

Requirements:
- All the works submitted should belong to their entrants and have been published from 1998 onward;
- The works submitted should not be smaller than 50 x 25 cm or larger than 180 x 120 cm and must fall in either of these two categories:
a) Cultural posters (whether printed or not);
b) Posters dedicated to the Palestinian cause.
- A maximum of 3 works may be entered by each artist in either category.

Registration: Gratis.

Deadline: All works should reach the address given below by August 22, 2004

Assessment: The works to be entered in the exhibition will be selected by an Iranian jury and a jury composed of Iranian and foreign judges will chose the best works of the biennial.

Prizes: The winners will be awarded the following prizes:
- Special Prize of the Islamic Republic of Iran Academy of Art, consisting of a plaque of honor, a commemorative statuette, 40 Bahar-e Azadi gold coins (an equivalent sum in an international currency in the case of non-Iranian winners), for both categories;
- Gold Prize, consisting of a plaque of honor, a commemorative statuette and 30 million Rials in cash (for each category)
- Silver Prize, consisting of a plaque of honor, a commemorative statuette and 20 million Rials in cash (for each category)
- Bronze Prize, consisting of a plaque of honor, a commemorative statuette and 10 million Rials in cash (for each category)
