INTRODUCTION
In order to coordinate the 3rd International Biennial Poster, Ningbo, and as one of the complete programmes of international biennial poster in Ningbo, the current biennial poster establishes the international students design competition. This competition will operate rigidly by international rules, the corresponding prize will be awarded by the international jury. The International Students Design Competition of Ningbo Poster Biennial, 2004 aims at promoting high-level graphic design, encouraging outstanding up-and-coming young designers, stimulating original design experience, and elevating professional level of design education.

THEME
TYPOGRAPHY

THEMATIC REQUISITION
All the entry works must be created with TYPOGRAPHY, any kinds of design works will be accept, also you can design specially for International Students Design Competition of Ningbo Poster Biennial, 2004. Its topic, concept and style are free.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
1. No limit for the number of submission. All posters must be designed by typography.
2. A category poster could be kept in TIFF(CMYK) format, A4 size, 350dpi precision, other forms are declined. Size for the printed poster works is A4. No representing form limit. It could be patching, painting, printing or computer designing, mounting is not required.
3. B category advertising works could be kept in TIFF(CMYK) format, A4 size,350dpi precision, other forms are declined. Size for the printed poster works is A4. No representing form limit. It could be patching, painting, printing or computer designing, mounting is not required.
4. C category book design can exhibit any topic. The content, materials, bookbinding and facture are not limited. Representing form is free: it could be patching, painting, printing or computer designing. C category design works must be the original works, digital files is not required.
5. For D category typeface, content should be the innovation or the creation of Chinese characters, English words or any other languages. There' no limit for the design topic, materials, bookbinding and facture is not limited. Representing form is free: it could be patching, painting, printing or computer designing. Mounting is not required. Digital files should be kept in TIFF format, CMYK images, A4 size, 350dpi precision. Other types are declined.
6. E category including multi-media and interactive works, FLASH and website works must stored into SWF or web type, any other multi-media and interactive works should attach corresponding playing software. The organizer will not undertake the responsibility of the loss of qualification because of the works can't be played. E category works must print 6-8 key pictures into A4 breath. Mounting is not required.
7. F category Logo and Identify must use fond to create, printed in A4 size. Mounting is not required. Digital files must be ke pt in TIFF format, CMYK images, A4 size, 350dpi precision, any other type is declined.
8. G category should include package design, card design, CD package and guiding design, any type not referred from A to F. Package design, card design, CD package and guiding design require being photographed or computer designed, printing in A4 size. Mounting is not required. Digital files should be kept in TIFF format, CMYK images, A4 size, 350dpi precision, any other type is declined.
9. The media of Digital files is CD-ROM. Please pack it carefully. The way of Diskette or sending through Internet is not accepted.
10. Each entry form must be in duplicate. Entry forms must be enclosed in a sealed envelope along with the posters. The participants should be requested to fill in an entry form in block letters or type-written. The entry form should be signed by the participant.
11. The participants are requested to fill in a label in block letters or type-written. A copy of the label mu st be fixed with adhesive tape to the lower-right corner on the reverse of each poster.
12. The works should be packed in a safe and practical manner to avoid any damage during transport.

RULES
1. Entrant should be student of the design college schools. There' no nationality limit.
2. The organizers reserve the right to refuse entries they consider morally, politically or religiously offensive, as well as work that is considered in contravention of the rules.
3. All the posters selected by the jury for the competitive exhibition become the property of the Organizers. All the posters are not returnable.
4. Each of the participants for the exhibition will receive the certificate. The participants selected to the competitive exhibition will get 50% discount on purchase of one copy of the 3RD international biennial, Ningbo 2004 catalogue , which can be requested by post. Postage must be paid by the address.
5. The shipping charges of the posters, as well as the custom duties are chargeable to the addresser. The organizer will not be held responsible for the delay of entries in transit.
6. Available for the copy of e ntry form.
7. The selected work will be exhibited together with the work of the 3rd International Biennial Poster, Ningbo 2004.

COPYRIGHT
The entry posters must be designed by entrant. If the work has the intellective right or copyright dispute, the organizer will cancel the qualification of the entry right. The entrant must undertake all the consequences. The entrant should ensure the organizer not to generate any copyright or other intellective right dispute for the use of the posters. The organizer has the right to exhibit, publish (including digital publish) and stow the selected posters.
