ZGRAF is a triennial international exhibition of graphic design and visual communications held in Zagreb, Croatia, since 1975. Throughout its history, ZGRAF exhibitions have brought together designers, theoreticians and critics, the aim being to think through the basic problems of design in contemporary society.

Designers around the world are invited to submit works for ZGRAF 9 by 1 October 2004.

ZGRAF invites submissions in two sections: a traditional Review of graphic design production (Printed materials, Television and film, Multimedia and Internet) and a special Theme section: The international problem exhibition on the topic The Designer and Advertising will consist of works that have already been realised, or that are conceived as preliminary approaches or have been created specially for this occasion. Works in this section can be executed in any medium, the only condition being that they focus on the Theme.

ZGRAF 9 is endorsed by Icograda and is being organised by ULUPUH - Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts, under the patronage of City Council of Zagreb and in association with Croatian Design Association (HDD), School of Design at the Architectural Faculty, University of Zagreb and the School of Design of the Split Art Academy. This year, the ZGRAF exhibition will be held 9 November to 4 December 2004 at Pavilion 19, Zagreb Fair, Zagreb, Croatia.

The application deadline for ZGRAF is 1 October 2004. Submissions will be selected by a selection committee consisting of: Iva Babaja (Croatia), Michael Kneidl (Austria), Marko Korzinek (Croatia), Ranko Novak (Croatia) and Zlatko Wurzberg (Croatia). Selected works are competing for awards given out by an international jury of renowned designers: Mirko Ilic (Croatia), Bo Linnemann (Denmark), Mitsuhiro Miyazaki (Japan), Laetitia Wolf (USA) and Martin Woodtli (Switzerland).
