REGULATIONS
The International Triennial sets itself the task of presenting the most noteworthy
and interesting achievements of artists all over the world in the domain
of the art poster devoted to the various performing arts:
Drama, opera, ballet, operetta, musical, circus, puppet shows, pantomime, concerts,
festivals, variety theatre (music hall), pop music performances, etc.
The Fifth International Triennial of Stage Poster will be held
from October through November 2007 in the National Exhibition Centre of Modern Art -
Union of Bulgarian Artists, Sofia, 6 Shipka Str.
Terms of participation
Posters created in the period April 30, 2004 - April 30, 2007 will be elligible.
Categories
1. Printed posters for: drama, opera, ballet, operetta, musical, circus, puppet shows, pantomime,
concerts, festivals, variety theatre (music hall), pop music performances, etc.
2. Posters on the theme of LOVE in the performing arts
and the Bulgarian play THE COLONEL BIRD by Hristo Boytchev (synopsis enclosed). The play can be found on web site www.triennial.orbitel.bg
Both printed posters and especially created originals may be submitted for this category.
Format of works
Minimal format A2 (420x594mm)
Number of works to be submitted
Each artist may submit up to 4 posters accompanied by CD (size A5, using format .ai, .eps, .tif, .pdf at 300 dpi resolution, CMYK), completed participation form and short CV.
The posters in the 1st category should be in two copies.
Entry deadline
The deadline for the receipt of the posters in Bulgaria is April 30, 2007.
There is no participation fee.

Juries
A National Selection Jury will establish the collection of the Fifth Triennial.
The results of the selection will be announced in June 2007.
An International Jury with members:
- SHIGEO FUKUDA - Japan
- TAPANI AARTOMAA - Finland
- ROMAN KALARUS - Poland
- MICHAL BATORY - France
- FELIPE TABORDA - Brazil
will determine the prizes to be awarded on the eve of the Triennial's opening.
The award winners will be announced during the official opening ceremony on the 8th of October 2007.
Awards
Grand Prix - a plastic "Golden Poster" and 1000 EUR.
Two equal in value prizes - a bronze plaque and 500 EUR (for each of the two categories).
A prize for an young artist (not older than 35) -
a bronze plaque in the name of the eminent Bulgarian artist Assen Stareyshinski.
Each participant should send his posters properly packed for transportation,
without frames or frame-plates (passe-partout), and labelled
Printed Matter. No commercial value.
The organizers of the Triennial assume no responsibility for damages
or losses incurred during transportation.
The posters remain the property of the Triennial's Fund after the closure of the exhibition.
The organizers of the Triennial may photograph and reproduce the posters free of charge in all printed publications of the Triennial and the relevant reviews.
The organizers reserve the right to reject any work which is in contradiction
to the Statute of the Triennial, violates moral standards,
or is likely to offend national or religious sensibilities.
Catalogue
A catalogue in colour of the Fifth International Triennial of Stage Poster Sofia 2007
will be published, including all the works accepted for participation by the Selection Jury.
All participants in the Triennial are entitled to a free copy of the catalogue,
paying only the postage.
