THE REGULATIONS
The 21st International Poster Biennale presents poster work created worldwide during the period between 2006–2007. The Warsaw Biennale aims at reviewing and comparing the most signifcant achievements of that time. The event is being organized by the Poster Museum at Wilanow – Department of the National Museum in Warsaw and Polish Poster Foundation. Endorsed by ICOGRADA.

WHERE & WHEN
1. The 21st IPB will be held in Warsaw at the Poster Museum at Wilanow and will last from June 7th 2008 till September 7th 2008.
2. Deadline for sending entries is February 17th 2008.

COMPETITIVE CATEGORIES
A – Ideological posters – works concerning universal themes; conditions and existence of man, civilisation problems, social and political action
B – Culture posters – promoting culture, art, education and sport ventures
C – Advertising posters – promoting commodities and business
D – The Henryk Tomaszewski Golden Debut – works submitted by students or graduates of art academies within two years from graduation. Graduation projects and academic assignments printed digitally can be submitted with permission from the college.

CONDITIONS OF ENTERING AND PARTICIPATING
1. The 21st IPB will exhibit works of individual authors, groups, studios and agencies.
2. Every participant may submit no more than 3 posters of 2006–2007, each in 2 copies. The entries must be printed.
3. The organizers will only accept the posters which will not exceed the following sizes: the longer edge must not exceed 180 cm, the shorter edge must not be less than 40 cm.
4. Each poster should bear a label with the participant’s name and the poster’s number taken from the entry form. The label has to be pasted to the bottom left corner on the reverse side of the poster.
5. The participants are asked to .ll in an entry form in block letters or typewritten. An illegible entry form or its lack will cause disqualification of the entry. The personal details given on the entry form will serve later as valuable information in the 21st IPB Catalogue. The entry form should be signed by participant.
6. The posters submitted will not be returned.
7. The posters pasted on a hard base or framed will not be accepted.
8. Together with the posters the participants are requested to send digital images of submitted works burned on a CD or DVD. The images are necessary for the preparation of the 21 IPB Catalogue. Digital images should be compatible with Mac OS or Microsoft Windows. Image size: 100x115 mm, resolution 350 dpi (CMYK), .le type: TIFF, EPS. If materials have been prepared in QuarkXpress or Page Maker program, please attach graphic .les or fonts to the main .le.
9. The works should be packed in a safe and practical manner to avoid any damage during transport. Damaged posters will not be accepted. The organizers do not take responsibility for damage sustained in transport.
10. Postage and other incidental expenses are covered by the sender. The parcel must be labeled: “printed matter no-commercial value”. Please do not include the price of your submission on the postal declaration or invoice, as this complicates the delivery procedure; the organizers will not undertake any customs clearance and the parcel will be sent back.

APPRAISEMENT
The posters qualifed for the competitive exhibition will be chosen by the Qualifying Committee. The selected participants will be notifed.

PRIZES
The International Jury will award prizes for each category
The Gold Medal 10 000 zlotys
The Silver Medal 6 000 zlotys
The Bronze Medal 4 000 zlotys
The Golden Debut 5 000 zlotys

The Jury will also award
The Icograda Excellence Award
The Jozef Mroszczak Honorary Award granted by the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

The Jury will announce the verdict on the opening day June 7th 2008.
A prize awarded for a group is regarded as a single prize and cannot be multiplied. The organizers allow other honorary awards and prizes funded by of.cial sponsors and patrons of IPB. All money prizes may be exchanged into foreign currencies according to international law. The Gold Medals Winners will be invited to the next Biennale Laureates Exhibition to present their poster art output.

FINAL OBLIGATION
All the posters qualifed for the competitive exhibition become the property of the Poster Museum at Wilanow. The organizers have the right to photograph and reprint the works for publicity and promotion of IPB.
