INTRODUCTION
3rd International Student Poster Competition 2010 "e c o L O G I C" Climate change, global warming, biodiversity loss, drinking water and sanitation problems, loss of environmental resources, pollution, Kyoto protocol, Copenhagen summit… take an action and step forward. Show your opinion about this enormous problem facing our planet. Say it loud!!! We invite students of graphic design and visual arts from all over the world to make a poster contribution, to this topic. It will have a direct effect on the society by opening new horizons and giving a strong motivation for the people to work towards a better future. This project should promote the ‘poster’ as a mean of expressing these ideas among the European and world wide youth. ORGANIZATION This year, PLAKART will realized the 3rd ISPC in partnership with the Museum of the City of Skopje, Warsaw Museum of Poster, AUG the Czech Graphic Design Association and the Faculty of Fine Arts, from Marmara University, Istanbul. The Ministry of Culture of Macedonia as its patronage continues supporting the mission of PLAKART as well as the following post review exhibition, where ever we go. One of the goals of this project is to merge the students from world academies and Europe in the territory of the Republic of Macedonia. "be ecoLOGIC” will strive for a cultural development of the young people and their social and cultural independence. One of the aspects of this situation is the lack of possibilities for self- actualization, namely achieving their aspiration and life ambitions. The organizer of this competition will continue promoting young artist and their posters around the globe, creating traveling exhibitions in Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Turkey, Israel... PRIZES: First Prize: 1500 Euros Second Prize: 1000 Euros Third Prize: 600 Euros Also, the jury will select 7 honorable mentions for the best posters that communicate the ecoLOGIC issue. ISPC continues with the tradition to bring the poster to the street We strongly believe that the real place of the poster is actually the street. Therefore we continue promoting the street art concept for a better communication with the public and stronger effect from the messages. We are going forward in giving the real meaning of the poster, which makes us more effective in promoting the messages than the similar poster manifestations, competitions and biennales in the world. The 3 winning and 7 honorable poster mentions, from the 3rd ISPC "be ecoLOGIC” will be exposed to the billboards and posters in Skopje and in several cities in Europe, where the post review exhibitions are planned. All costs will be covered by the organizer. Terms : 2010 PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS The competition is only for students of art and design registered at an educational institution for art and design including disciplines such as fine arts, graphic design, communication design, visual communication, media design and other related disciplines. There's no limit for nationality. Students may either register for the competition individually or their school/university may enter them for the competition provided that the student has given his/her consent. Team entries are allowed; teams may consist a maximum of 3 students. If a team entry wins the competition, the prize will be equally split among all team members. Each participant / group may enter a maximum of three poster visuals. The organizers reserve the right to refuse entries they consider morally, politically or religiously offensive. All participants need to register for the competition by completing an entry form on the web site and attach their poster. The submission of the poster is free of charge and all printing costs will be covered by the organizer. The posters doesn't has to be sent as printed matter All posters become the property of the International Student Poster Competition, Skopje. Entry deadline is 1 November, 2010. NEW POSTER REQUIREMENTS The poster should promote visual solutions of the environmental problems with the main topic of "be ecoLOGIC" and promote as a positive concept to a wider international audience. 1. The poster should preferably be in English, German or French; however, poster texts in all other languages will be accepted. 2. Submit your poster in the following order: Printable PDF, TIFF, EPS or JPG in B3 format (350x500mm) with the resolution of 300 dpi with CMYK color setting. Preview of the same poster in B6 format (120x176mm) with the resolution not bigger than 150 dpi with RGB color setting for online web publication. All used fonts should be in outlines or rasterized. 3. No copyrighted material may be used for the design. 4. The organizers will reserve the right to utilize the contributed visuals for presentation and media use and to reproduce all entries for promotional purposes within the framework of the international promotional activities and campaigns. Judging criteria The jury will adhere to criteria based on: creativity, originality, aesthetics, communicability and excellence of execution. If the work has the intellective right or copyright dispute, the organizer will cancel the qualification of the entry right. The entrant must undertake all the consequences. The entrant should ensure the organizer not to generate any copyright or other intellective right dispute for the use of the posters. All the posters including the winning and the honorable mentions chosen by the jury members, are becoming a courtesy of PLAKART SkopjePoster. The organizer has the right to exhibit, publish (including digital publish) and collect the selected posters. By filing the application form you fully agree with the terms of participation.
