On the occasion of the Sydney Olympics,an invitation has been forwarded to sixteen graphic design schools throughout the world to take part in a posters exhibition about "the Olympics and human rights".
Each will select five projects (posters,lengh 40,high 60 cm)which they will send to Paris (Jeux olympiques,c/o SNG,8 rue Saint-Jean,75017 Paris,France),the deadline to send the projects is set to March 30 2000.
An international jury will select three laureates who will receive a prize and whose projects will be printed;these posters will serve as the recto of a "poster newspaper". A brochure will present all the projects;each school will receive twenty copies of it.An exhibit will present the eighty projects in Paris in June 2000,then in Sydney during the Olympics and at the Sport and Culture museum (Géo-Charles museum)of Échirolles. Selected schools include Barcelona (Spain), Berlin (Germany),Breda (the Netherlands), Paris (France), Montreal (Canada), Moscow (Russia), Puebla (Mexico), Pretoria (South Africa), Rhode Island (United States), Shangai (China), Sydney (Australia), Tel Aviv (Israel), Torino (Italy), Warsaw (Poland), Zurich (Switzerland) and a Japanese school to be selected. The international jury will comprise Michel Bouvet (France), Bernar Fournier (France,l ¹Equipe magazine), Niklaus Troxler (Switzerland), James Victore (United States), as well as a high ranking French sportswoman.
