The following is a brief summary of the call for entries. Complete forms should be obtained from the above address.
Zgraf is an international manifestation of graphic design and visual communications that has been held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, since 1975. Zgraf encompasses a number of events: the international exhibition of selected works created over the preceding few years by designers competing for prizes, as well as works by the members of the international jury; other exhibitions, lectures and presentations. Zgraf devotes particular attention to the young generation of designers, as well as to schools of graphic design. With this in mind, "Zgraf WELCOME", a special prize, has been devised specifically for a designer or a group of designers up to 26 years of age. We look forward with pleasurable anticipation to receive your works!
What to submit and how Only works created between September 1995 and December 1998 ma be entered. Printed materials or proofs must be accompanied by at least one high quality 35 mm slide for publishing in the colour catalogue. Works larger than A0 or B1 must be submitted on colour photographs or printing proofs size A3 (420x297mm) cardboard mounted. Multimedia category works are to be submitted on CD-ROM. Video material must be submitted on VHS cassettes. Pleas fill in the entry form and tape it on each entry or enclose it with slides. Parts of a campaign mark as follows: 1/3, 2/3 etc. Please mark your package: CONTEST MATERIAL / NO COMMERCIAL VALUE / FREE DOMICILE. The organizers will not pay any transport or custom charges.
Eligibility for participation / number of works Individual designers, groups or agencies, students or groups of students are eligible to participate in this exhibition. Each designer or group may enter a maximum of three works or campaigns.
Responsibilities of organizer The organizer undertakes the responsibility to publish the exhibition catalogue (format 23x33 cm) which will contain the works of all authors represented at the exhibition. Each author shal be represented with at least one reproduction of his work. The zgraf8 catalogue will be available to the participants with 50% discount.
Announcement of awards The awards of zgraf8 are to be announced at the opening of the exhibition and will be published in a special supplement to the catalogue. The organizer further undertakes to inform the ICOGRADA Executive Board as well as leading professional magazines about the prizes awarded.
Return of works As a rule, all the entered works remain the property of the zgraf Collection, housed in the Croatian National and University Library. However, should authors so request, their works will be returned
