A native of Zimbabwe, Chaz Maviyane-Davies has been described by the UKšs Design magazine as 'the guerrilla of graphic design'. For more than two decades the award-winning, controversial designeršs powerful work has taken on issues of consumerism, health, social responsibility, the environment and human rights.

Due to adverse political conditions in his homeland, he moved to the USA in 2001, where he is currently an Associate Professor of Design at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. As well as being published in numerous international magazines, books and newspapers, his work has been exhibited extensively and is included in several permanent gallery collections.

The open hand used on the poster, is the symbol of the MDC (Movement for Democratic Change), the main opposition party in Zimbabwe. Since Robert Mugabe's campaign of terror, hundreds of it's members have been targeted and murdered and probably many more will be in the near future unless the madness is stopped.
