Graphic Design That Sounds
40 posters and other little things that evoke music as well as the venues in which it may be heard. Evoking sounds and their meeting with places and territories. Graphic works on an invisible matter, graphic works to mark the identity of places where this matter is enlightened. 40 posters and other little things dedicated to two concert halls (La Nef in Angouleme and the VIP in St Nazaire), a festival (Farniente Festival - Siestes Musicales) and an indie venue (Cap au Sud in Pornichet). But also a side project (musically speaking) for the St Nazaire School of Arts in 2005, which led to an exhibition and a book, Emap type in situ. About this specific work, the famous Swiss graphic artist Niklaus Troxler wrote : When I look at the typographic works of Pierre Kurczewski, I can hear rhythms and melodies : his typography is music * ; some of these works are displayed here. Therefore, we welcome you to an exposition of rhythms, sounds and spaces... La Nef, rue Louis Pergaud
