Poster by Andrew Lewis |
The poster exhibition ALIVE KRUCHENYKH! is dedicated to Futurism or, if being precisely, to Russian Futurism and one of its central figure Alexey Kruchenykh. He wrote such a "trifle high brow" or zaum poetry meaning literally "beyond sense" . Actually he created new language - zaum language which was the phenomenon in the world literature.
ALIVE KRUCHENYKH!

State Museum of Mayakovsky, Moscow, March 29 - 30, 2011

As futurists once expanded feature of the book, turning it into an instrument of the artist as a poster now ceased to be the only source of information, much less visual aids, and became self-sufficient form of artistic expression.
Reason for the artistic gesture - the anniversary of Alexei Kruchenykh, one of the brightest representatives of Russian Futurism. Absurdity in life, Zaum language as a way of expanding the borders of typography, deconstruction as a way of creation of a new, zaum as attitude to life - for these and other topics reflect the leading Russian and International designers. Personal vision, creating and expanding their own contexts, a tendency to experiment brings them closer to Kruchenykh for whom the extension was the main idea of his creation.
