Today, November 24, 2012, the religious event Ashura is celebrated in Iran and most parts of the islamic world, a sad and bloody day comparable in weight and importance to Good Friday in the christian world. On this occasion Darius Vares published the poster and text below on Facebook:

This poster is for a tragic historical event in Islam (Ashura). The day of Ashura is marked by Muslims as a whole, but for Shia Muslims it is a major religious commemoration of the martyrdom at Karbala of Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. For Shia Muslims, Ashura is a solemn day of mourning the martyrdom of Hussein in 680 AD at Karbala in modern-day Iraq. Hussein and his followers were massacred for water in battle at Karbala.
