Pigasus Polish Poster Gallery Danziger Str. 52, Berlin, Germany The World Cinema in the Polish Poster Ausstellung: 22.04. - 19.05.2013 Ausstellungseroeffnung: 20.04.2013, 19:00 Uhr Since 2009 the Gallery has been running a series entitled “Cinematographies from around the world in the Polish Poster”. After a number of events devoted to individual countries PIGASUS would like to invite to an exhibition under a slightly different title. “The World Cinema in the Polish Poster”, which is a part of this year's “filmPOLSKA” Festival, is going to be a journey through the world of film in over 40 takes. The exhibition features posters from between 1950-1989 advertising major Hollywood productions, as well as low-budget films from such distant countries like Taiwan or Ivory Coast, which today would never make it into the official distribution. We are going to see the works of the most distinguished Polish artists: Jan Lenica, Eryk Lipinski, Jan Mlodozeniec, Andrzej Pagowski, Franciszek Starowieyski, Waldemar Swierzy, and others. The exhibition is going to be a short retrospective for the connaisseurs of the world cinema, and a real feast for the lovers of the poster art. read more
