Joanna Gorska and Jerzy Skakun
graduated from the painting faculty of Fine Arts Academy in Gdansk. From 2003 they have been working in their own graphic studio named Homework ( www.homework.com.pl ). They design posters, work on printing graphics and graphic works for cultural events.
Their works were exhibited (among other places) in Paris, Berlin, Oslo, Mexico, Sophia and Hong Kong. They are prizewinners of several competitions. The most important of their achievements are: gold medal for Poster Biennial in Mexico, silver medal on International Biennal of Poster in Chicago, Grand Prix for the Akobi calendar in VIDICAL competition, and also The Jozef Mroszczak Honorary Award at XXI Poster Biennial in Warsaw. Joanna Gorska and Jerzy Skakun work with cultural institutions such as: Polish Theater in Bydgoszcz, Vivarto, Mañana and Pulaski Museum in Warka, New Horizons Association.
They are authors of many poster included in the „World Cinematoghrapies in the Polish Poster“ exhibition series that has been held in the Pigasus Gallery since 2009.
Joanna Gorska has been a jury member of this year's prestigeous "The 100 best posters. Germany, Austria, Switzerland." competition (the posters will be shown at the exhibition held in Kulturforum at Matthäikirchplatz to be opened on 30th May 2013).
