Posters on Pinterest
Pinterest "is a pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, and hobbies. Users can browse other pinboards for images, 're-pin' images to their own pinboards, or 'like' photos."
I tried it out with some posters I like, and found it very easy to use: pinterest.com/pospag. Within about two weeks, I had collected more than 3000 pictures, mostly from other Pinterest postings, some from Posterpage, some from other websites. To keep some order, I grouped them according to country, so there is a pinboard Poster - Argentina, Poster - Austria, Poster - Australia, and so on up to Poster - USA. Pinterest has a search function to find pictures, and I quickly discovered many pinboards devoted exclusively to posters, graphic design, or typography. Here is a link list to some of them. Also, many poster designers have their own pinboard, either made by themselves, for example Henning Wagenbreth, or made for them by a fan, like my Poster - France - Cheret pinboard. At right is a short, incomplete list of some poster artist pinboards: |
Below are some screenshots of my Pinterest pinboards to wet your appetite, but the best thing is of course to try it out yourself. It's free.
