Hommage a Tadeusz Lewandowski & Guy Schockaert in Mons (BE)
received from Jean Pol Rouard
Hommage
Two friends graphic-designers have left us, Tadeusz Lewandowski and Guy Schockaert. Both were familiar with the Triennial of the Political Poster taking part as authors and/or members of the jury. Tadeusz worked and lived in the mythical "Bateau Lavoir" (Laundry Boat) in Paris. (His work) «Lewandowski declares…» published in 1989 within the context of the Bicentenary of the French Revolution, has marked the history of graphic design. Guy was the president (of the Board) of ICOGRADA, the International Council of Graphic Arts, and gradually became the globetrotting ambassador of the Belgian graphic design abroad! Both had a passion for the art of poster and for typographic design. Both passed their passion and taught in a wonderful way. Tadeusz in Cergy-Pontoise and Maryse- Eloy. Guy in Saint-Luc and La Cambre. Their teaching was based on catching enthusiasm, competence, nobility and empathy. Dear friends, the design community and your fellow adventurers remained on earth are missing you. Jean-Pol Rouard
