Exhibition of self-edition posters in Szczecin, Poland

The Second National Review of Self-Edition Posters, called Roller Poster,
organized by the Department of Graphic Design in the Visual Arts Faculty at the Academy of Art in Szczecin.

Place: gallery 13muz in Szczecin, Poland Partner: The Cultural Institute of the City of Szczecin 13muz Description: A few years ago was born the concept of self-edition, so-called author's design, without the order, as the need for expressing own feelings. Current (trend) in the design, which stood out from commercialism, for good rooted as one of the section of design. There are diferent motives create this type of works, but in large part they are created as an answer to humans and animals harm, negative climate changes, criticizing consumerism, social injustice or are a cry for equality between people etc. In June 2014 Department of Graphic Design organized The First National Review of Self- Editions Posters called Roller Poster. In the exhibition which was held in the Trafostacja Sztuki in Szczecin, we showed works of famous Polish graphic designers. At the exhibition were almost 80 self-edition posters. The Roller Poster relates to a particular phenomenon in the feld of poster design that is self-edition means issuing and publishing projects at their own expense without commercial orders to subjective artistic expression. This is the only review of this type of creativity in the country, the purpose of which is to show the condition of the authorial's poster (self-editions). Roller Poster enable artists to show their work create from a personal and selfess needs. |
