We are pleased to announce a retrospective exhibition of works by the Polish graphic designer, illustrator and educator Professor Henryk Tomaszewski (1914-2005). Tomaszewski was one of the seminal graphic designers in post- war Poland. The founding father of the Polish School of Poster, he educated whole generations of Polish and foreign designers. His work received inter- national recognition shortly after World War II, and the special graphic lan- guage he used inspires designers all over the world to this day.

The upcoming exhibition, the first solo presentation outside Poland of Tomaszewski’s extensive body of work, covers more than fifty years of his artistic career. This selection of approximately 250 works includes drawings concerning both private topics and public affairs, which were regularly print - ed in cultural publications before and after World War II, his series of book covers for Polish literary works, and of course works from his best-known creative field – posters.

The exhibition can be viewed independently or with a guided tour. The ac- companying program will include an event entitled More about Henryk Tomaszewski, an in-depth presentation of the artist covering all the areas in which he was active.

Participating in the exhibition will be: Filip Pagowski, the artist’s son and himself a renowned illustrator and graphic designer, the renowned illustrator Cyprian Koscielniak, one of the artist’s former assistants, and as moderator, Radovan Jenko, one of the artist’s former students.

In order to ensure the best possible execution of the event More about Henryk Tomaszewski, we will be accepting preliminary applications till Monday April 25 th . Please apply using the e-mail address info@brumen.org or by phoning +386 51 371 233.

Yours faithfully,
