Since I was not too happy with the selections of the honorable and distinguished Jury, (they ignored for example my alltime favorite Wagenbreth, so I'm devoting a whole page to him in revenge), I unanimously picked my own heroes, and here is why: That eerie greenish glow in Pfueller's self portrait reveals the power and maturity of a master draftsman. Jianping He's poster "Chinese fashion, chinese culture" shows presence and absence of Mao, refinement and simplicity, at the same time. Betker's poster "sonic.Zones/~net-condition" jokingly uses the pictorial language of a computer flowcharts for typography, very simple, very effective. Everybody will understand the billboard by Gudrun Muschalla for a vitamin preparation and sympathize with the poor kid. It is one in a series for a drugstore chain.
