This web exhibition accompanies the current exhibition Istvan Horkay - 45 Posters & 22 Videos in Shanghai, China; text and pictures were kindly provided by Istvan Horkay. Istvan Horkay, freelance graphic artist, poster designer, animator and filmmaker has a great significance in Hungarian cultural life and his international fame as a designer is also well-known. He works in an extremely conscious way, for him, to be up-to-date and to be modern mean the constant analysis and courageous innovations of the thematic and formal elements, and also the consequent avoidance of the usage of common places.

The works of Istvan Horkay were appreciated by several of the most relevant issues of graphic design:

He was invited to participate in important international exhibitions
- 2005 New Media Installations QUT Art Museum,Brisbane /Australia
- 2012 The Little Mermaid / ANU Art Gallery / Canberra / Australia: Peter Greenaway & Istvan Horkay 

He is an active member of the Hungarian Poster Association.
