1987, Against drugs This poster was an instant success when it reached the west. The picture was used on CD covers and in poster books without any attribution to the author, much to the Faldin's dismay. |
2000, Against smoking The poster that won a Gold medal at the 17th International Poster Biennale Warsaw 2000, a Silver medal at the 6th International Poster Biennal Mexico 2000, and a Bronze medal at the 1st International Poster Triennial Hong Kong 2001 |
2002, Against doping
The latin text, written in an elegant font usually reserved for pharmaceutical publicity, is the slogan of the Olympic Games: "faster, higher, stronger". This year's winter games opened in Salt Lake City on February 3, 2002, and were soon accompanied by the usual doping scandals, for example the suspension of a russian athlete after a positive drug test on February 21. Faldin, a self-confessed workaholic, had the poster finished two days later, and it landed in my inbox on February 26. After I put it on the front page the same night, my page count doubled during the next week. |
