Keystone: 56 Posters from 8 Iranian Graphic Designers
Pictures received from Reza Abedini, AGI,
Graphic designer in Tehran
Keystone is the title of the first poster exhibition showing posters from the young generation of iranian graphic designers that have grouped together under the name
The 5th Color. This web exhibition, the first of it's kind to my knowledge, gives us a rare first glance into a rapidly developing area of graphic design, and shows one sample of each of the participating artists.
The first indications that graphic design in Iran is awakening was the nomination of three new members from Iran ( Ghobad Shiva, Ebrahim Haghighi and Reza Abedini ) to the prestigious international designer's organization AGI at the Paris meeting in September 2001. For the last 26 years, Morteza Momayez had been the only member from Iran. The next step was Icograda's endorsement of the 7th Biennial of Graphic Design in Iran in April 2002 and I hope the event will soon become as well known as those of Brno, Warsaw, Toyama, Mexico or Hongkong.
