Franco Balan ( Aosta , 30 October 1934 - Aosta , 14 April 2013 ) was a painter and graphic artist, dealing mainly with posters and pictures.

Honorary member of the AIAP (Italian Design Association for Visual Communication), member of the AGI, of ADI and the Academie Saint-Anselme of Aosta.

During his long career, during which he trained numerous graphic designers teaching in schools of all levels in Aosta and around the world, has won numerous awards, among which:
- prize UN for graphics in 1978
- design marks and signs of the Gran Paradiso National Park
- logo creation Espace Mont-Blanc
- creation of posters for the XX Olympic Winter Games in Turin of 2006 .
