The competition
The annual invitational competition for a poster and corporate identity for the sailing festival in Kiel, has an uninterrupted tradition going back to 1948. Usually five graphic designers, among them two from abroad, are invited to submit works. Previous winners of the prestigious award are for example Hermann Eidenbenz, Celestino Piatti, Anton Stankowski, Hans Hillmann, Waldemar Swierzy, Otto Treumann, Bruno Oldani, Jean Widmer, Bruno K. Wiese, Ruedi Baur, Rosmarie Tissi, Ben Bos, Christof Gassner, Siegried Odermatt and many other highranking artists.

The jury

  • Gerd Baumann from Schwaebisch Gmuend (DE) (winner in 1995)
  • Clemens Th. Schedler from Schreiblingstein, Vienna (AT)
    met on November 13, 2002, in Kiel.

    The winner
    Bernd Kuchenbeiser, born 1969 in Heidelberg (DE), is the winner of the invitational design competition for the annual sailing festival "Kieler Woche" in Kiel (DE) in 2004.
