On June 13, 2009, the jury ( Michal Batory, France; Timo Berry, Finland; Vladimir Chaika, Russia; Bruno Monguzzi, Switzerland; David Tartakover, Israel ) awarded the following prizes from almost 2600 entries received, from which the preselection jury ( Pekka Loiri, Tapani Aartomaa, Timo Berry, Esa Ojala, Kari Piippo) had chosen 252:

  • Grand Prix (3500 Euro, donated by Ministry of Education)
    Svetlana Faldina / Anastasia Faldina / Alexandra Faldina / Alexander Faldin (Russia): Gastarbeiters, Thank You!

  • Grafia Prix (3000 Euro, donated by Grafia ry)
    Alain Le Quernec (France): Ego

  • 2nd Prize (1700 Euro, donated by the Regional Council of Päijät-Häme)
    Mohammad Jamshidi (Iran): The Human Meditation Tired Volume

  • Environmental Posters, Lauri Tarasti Prize (3000 Euro, divided between two posters)
    Uwe Loesch (Germany): Requiem

  • Best young designer
    Haruka Sugita (Japan): Ozone Layer Depletion

  • Certificate of Honour
    Cedomir Kostovic (United States): A-I-D-S Hidden Danger
    Michal Miksa (Poland): Ornette Coleman / Jazz Jamboree '08
