The winner of this year's Grand Prix Savignac, Luba Lukova from New York, was selected on January 16, 2001, among designers from Germany, Austria, China, Korea, Croatia, Denmark, United States, France, Italy, Japan and the Czech Republic, who submitted a total of 202 posters.

Previous winners of this award were Per Arnoldi in 1992, Stasys Eidrigevicius in 1993, Rafal Olbinski in 1994, Shigeo Fukuda in 1995, Milton Glaser in 1996, O-Young Kwon in 1997, Carine Lank in 1998/99, and John Au in 1999/2000.

Bulgarian born Luba Lukova has received many international distinctions, the most recent for her poster Sudan which won the Icograda Excelllence Award in Chaumont, France, and a gold medal at the International Poster Biennale in Mexico last year.

The Salon International de l'Affiche in Paris is a yearly event organized by Andre Parinaud, president of the Academie Nationale des Arts de la Rue, 105 Bd. Hausmann, 75008 Paris (F), fax +33 1 4924 9845. An exhibition of 92 of the submitted works is at the UNESCO building, 7 place Fontenoy, Paris, from January 17 to January 26, 2001. It will then be shown in Boulogne-Billancourt, a suburb of Paris, at the Centre Culturel, 22 rue de la Belle Feuille, from January 29 to February 23, 2001, before going on a world tour during 2001.
