Biography

1959	Born in Pully VD, Switzerland grew up in Treytorrens and Epesses, small villages overlooking Lake Geneva
1978 - 1983	Schule fuer Gestaltung Basel, Graphik - Fachklasse, in Armin Hofmann's class
1983 - 1986	Graphic designer of the Schweiz. Mustermesse, Basel
1986 - 1989	Freelance work and travels to New York and San Francisco
1989	Opens his own studio "& Trafic Grafic" in Basel

Awards and distinctions

Levy has won numerous prizes in international poster competitions in Switzerland, Poland, France, Finland, USA and his work is regularly selected and exhibited in the major international poster exhibitions.

Publications

The POSTER BIBLIOGRAPHY lists about 50 literature references on posters by Jean-Benoit Levy, starting in 1986 with a poster for a trade fair in Basel. In addition, his typographic talent has found special recognition, for example in the reference work "Typography - when, who, how", by F. Friedel, N. Ott and B. Stein.
