Homage to Villeglé
Jacques de Villeglé, born in 1924 in the breton city of Quimper, is one of the many people who have pointed out the beauty of layers of torn posters. He became famous by calling them "affiches lacérées" and promoted them into the world of art. You find many examples in Berlin, curiously enough more in West Berlin than in the East. I would like to thank Sandy K., who guided me to many more richly decorated Berlin streets than I had found last year. |
